Near the Sanctuary, the tourist office recommends:
• Merlasse car park (by the Saint-Joseph gate): 392 spaces on 7 levels, paid (€30 per day, €10 per night in 2026).
• Esplanade du Paradis: 131 free spaces on the south side; the north side is paid from 9 am to 7.15 pm.

Other car parks:
• Peyramale underground car park: 198 spaces, open 24/7, but no entry after 7 pm.
• Free car parks at Lapacca and Place Capdevielle (tourist office).

Street parking: in the town centre, paid from 9 am to 12.15 pm and 2 pm to 6.15 pm, with 1 free hour per day per vehicle; free on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays. In the tourist zone (around the Sanctuary), paid every day from 9 am to 7.15 pm, maximum stay 10 h 15. Pay at the meter or with the EasyPark app. Post-parking charge: €40 (€30 if paid quickly). You may not stay more than 48 hours in the same place.

Motorhomes and coaches: Arrouza area, avenue Mgr Rodhain, 200 motorhome spaces (€10 per day) and 80 coach spaces.

Access by car, FAQ and where to stay to visit the Sanctuary

How to get there by car? From the A64 motorway (Bayonne – Toulouse), take exit 12 Tarbes-Ouest, then the RN21 to Lourdes (tourist office). On arrival, follow signs for the Sanctuaries and car parks.

Tip: on the busiest days (feasts of 11 February and 15 August, large pilgrimages), the centre is very crowded. The simplest option is to park once and do everything on foot.

FAQ. Is there a free car park at the Sanctuary? No, the Sanctuary has no visitor car park. The nearest free spaces are on the south side of the Esplanade du Paradis (131 spaces), and at the Lapacca and Place Capdevielle car parks.

Are there disabled parking spaces? Yes: the town has 124 reserved spaces, and holders of the European disabled parking card park free of charge in all paid spaces, for up to 7 days.

Can I pay by phone? Yes, with the EasyPark app.

Where can I park a motorhome? At the Arrouza area (200 spaces, €10 per day).

Where to stay without parking worries? At À l'Ombre de la Tour, 31 rue de la Grotte, 8 minutes' walk from the Sanctuary: free public car park 50 m away.
